A Bungalow On A Beach In The Pacific
Located in the dreamy South Pacific, just 250 km north of Rarotonga, is Aitutaki – a tiny slice of tropical perfection. With a population of just 1,700, it’s remote enough to feel like your own secret escape, but still buzzing with that laid-back island charm. Aitutaki is the crown jewel of the Cook Islands, and once you see its postcard-perfect lagoons and beaches, you’ll get why.
It’s all about easy living here – think barefoot walks on soft white sand, snorkelling in crystal-clear waters, and soaking up the sunshine without a care in the world - pure bliss.
Paradise Cove beach bungalows are the perfect resting place for your stay on Aitutaki..
WHY WE LOVED IT
Location! A private beach steps from your bed. Perfect for lounging around, reading your book, snorkelling..
Well priced. The bungalow is basic inside but has a small kitchenette and bathroom. For a beach front bungalow less than $200 a night is an amazing price!
Activities such as kayak hire, snorkel gear & scooter hire are all available on site.
Free airport transfers.
Enjoy breakfast and sunsets on your private balcony over looking the beach.
WHAT TO DO NEARBY..
An absolute must-do when visiting Aitutaki, is a day trip on the lagoon. We did our boat trip with ‘Bishop Cruises’. Included plenty of stops for snorkelling, a bbq lunch & a few hours on ‘one foot island’.
Rent a kayak from the front desk ($15 per person per single kayak).
Whale spotting (between July to September Humpback whales are seen passing by just along the coast past the reef). You can try your luck to swim with the whales taking a day trip with ‘Wet n Wild’ tours.
Eat! We loved Avatea Cafe for lunch, The Blue Lagoon Restaurant (great fish curry!) & The Rapae Bay Restaurant in the Pacific Resort.
And of course, snorkelling.. the island is surrounded by a barrier reef and you can swim out from any beach with clear water and plenty sea life.
Rent a scooter for the best experience.

HOW TO GET THERE..
First things first - you have to get to Rarotonga! Direct flights go from Sydney via Jetstar, or you can go via Auckland on Air New Zealand. From Rarotonga, only 1 airline operates to the small island of Aitutaki and back. Air Rarotonga runs 4 flights a day, and a return trip to the island will cost you $500 - $650AUD.
