The Perfect Hotel For Your Californian Road Trip

Santa Barbara is the ultimate California daydream. Nestled between the sparkling Pacific Ocean and rolling mountains, it’s all sunshine, palm trees, and laid-back coastal vibes.

Formally known as the Kimpton Goodland, the ‘Leta, by Hilton Hotels’ in Santa Barbara is a great stop on your California road trip.

Why we loved it

  • Location. Just outside of Santa Barbara, it’s a great stop on a California coastal road trip. Close enough to LA, we stayed here before flying out of LAX in the evening (rather than another night in LA).

  • Aesthetic. The boutique hotel retains a retro Californian vibe. Every room has a record player, you could go to a small record store in the lobby and swap in and out the records you wanted to listen to.

  • The on site ‘CAYA’ restaurant - didn’t need to leave the hotel!

WHAT TO DO NEARBY

Going north? Along the coast you must explore the ‘Carmel-By-The-Sea’ area. Perfect for sunny and gloomy days, the coast is rugged and beautiful. Stop at McWay falls, and the Bixby Bridge.

Going south? Get off the 101 and stop at Malibu on the way back into LA. Visit the Malibu Farm Pier cafe and stroll along the beach.
